fazer under attack !!!!!!! - red98 - 14-04-18

Went to get my workshop hoover from the garage this morning only to find ,what I think is mice , have taken a liking to the filter , also on thier menu is ,a sponge and large chunks of storage blankets , looks like they have made a nest in my classic car , managed to catch a little one and spotted what I think is the mum but couldnt catch her , both my fazers share the same garage , are they under threat ?............off to get some poison but not sure what to get or if anyone will sell me any in this crazy world we now live in.......any advice on evicting these unwanted guests greatly received    :thumbup

I'd put traps down with peanut butter as bait, they love it.  :b

Re: fazer under attack !!!!!!! - fatbloke62 - 14-04-18

I've used chocolate in traps in past with good  results

The trouble with poisoning them is they creep off somewhere inaccessible to die and then stink the place out.
A trap would be my choice.

Cheers foccers.....just got back from bunnings with two conventional mouse traps , helpfull guy in shop identified the body as a mouse , a search on google tells me average litter is between 6 and 8 with a max of 10........baited traps with chocolate spread in hope of catching mum , litter should starve to death or if I catch mum by morning iam going in    :eek

Red peanut butter  is the best, cleared a hole family of mice out of my shed, they prefer sunpat crunchy! !!!

Re: fazer under attack !!!!!!! - mtread - 14-04-18

Put peanut butter down in my shed as they were eating the sack of bird food. Nothing. Mind you, I haven't had any more bird food taken either. I reckon they've cleared off. Last seen heading west. Some talk about a garage with cosy classic car  :lol

Conventional traps and peanut butter, as others have said, they love the stuff!

If you would like me to pop over and point out all the faults with trap placement and point out all the holes in all your stuff I would be more than willing to come and "help".  Wink

Re: fazer under attack !!!!!!! - VNA - 14-04-18

They came into my house under the floor boards during the cold weather this winter.  Heard them one night.  Got some traps and peanut butter the next day.  Caught two in humane traps and released some distance away, one other got snared in a conventional trap.  All sorted in under 48hrs.

Re: fazer under attack !!!!!!! - HarryHornby - 14-04-18

oh, hang on, I've just had an idea..... set up an ultra sonic cleaner in your garage, leave it on overnight and burn the foccers out come the morning.....  :thumbup

Also they develop resistance to the poison and you find the pellets nibbled on for the grain inside and the poison shell lying on the ground! Sad

Don't forget a couple of rattle cans to repair the damage.

Re: fazer under attack !!!!!!! - tommyardin - 15-04-18

Some might say its cruel, but then so is a mouse trap, poison is a slow and painful death and an air rifle pellet to the head is a difficult shot with two bikes and a classic car in the garage.
But this method is no risk to anyone, and to be honest is quite exciting going out to the garage/shed in the mornings.
You need to be careful to get the balance right on the batten or wooded ruler plus a small amount of crumbs around the bench end of ruler and a line of biscuit crumbs along ruler leading to 1/2 biscuit balance at the end of the ruler.
The rest is self explanatory and it works much to my delight.
