really? - BBROWN1664 - 07-02-18 Was it the warden couldn't see his permit or because he parked like a tw@t? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-42972197 Re: really? - Grahamm - 08-02-18 As he says, ""I thought it was odd because if I wasn't displaying it I would have got a parking ticket every day because I had left my car there while I was in London" Basically it's just a Warden being a Jobsworth. Re: really? - BBROWN1664 - 08-02-18 Look at the picture again and see how it is parked against the kerb! It appears to be parked on a junction. Maybe they issued the ticket for that rather than the non-display. The person receiving the ticket probably didn't even read it :pokefun Re: really? - Robbie8666 - 08-02-18 (08-02-18, 09:43 AM)BBROWN1664 link Wrote: Look at the picture again and see how it is parked against the kerb! true but if the car hadn't moved in a few days then surely he would've had a ticket on the previous days too? but as you point out there isn't a copy of the ticket to say exactly why he got this ticket! There's no double yellow lines etc, so unless it's causing an obstruction, it's legally parked. Re: really? - BBROWN1664 - 08-02-18 I will refer you to rule 243 of the highway code. This is something you can get a parking ticket for (though most plod and wardens don't bother) https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/waiting-and-parking-238-to-252 DO NOT stop or park: - opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space Re: really? - Grahamm - 12-02-18 (08-02-18, 02:43 PM)BBROWN1664 link Wrote: I will refer you to rule 243 of the highway code. This is something you can get a parking ticket for (though most plod and wardens don't bother) Ok, good point. It's not something I normally worry about, being on a bike ![]() So, yes, it's possible that that was what the ticket was for, but it's still an odd co-incidence that it happened on the day when the permit wasn't visible due to snow. Re: really? - mtread - 12-02-18 Well there you go. Nothing to do with parking badly. All to do with poor quality software and a over zealous enforcement http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-43002171 |
