Idea for a jacking frame? - matt7chunk - 01-02-18 This is my bad drawing of my idea to get the old girl up in the air: Ask a friend to hold the bike stable and jack up from the middle plate then slip 4 axle stands on all corners of the frame ? Re: Idea for a jacking frame? - Disorderlypunk - 01-02-18 did you know they exist https://cdn.lsengineers.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/thumbnail/650x650/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/m/c/mcl500_maximum_lift.png lol combine that frame work with a https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41wQgpKeq1L.jpg and weld it to a large enough base plate and that is what you will have i usually just use the scissor jack and a swingarm stand if i need to get everything off the ground Re: Idea for a jacking frame? - robbo - 02-02-18 The Abba Pro Stand ( swingarm stand) is a handy piece of kit. Can be used on most bikes with the appropriate adaptors and allows good access underneath the bike. It's like a giant centre stand. To get the front wheel off the ground a scissor/bottle jack would suffice. If you had a concrete floor in the garage you could drill a couple of skybolts into the floor either side of the rear wheel, and then ratchet strap the back of the bike down leaving the front in the air and totally accessible. With a hydraulic bench it's just a matter of a few holes drilled in the right place. There's a few use Abba stands on Gumtree and one on ebay at present. Re: Idea for a jacking frame? - matt7chunk - 02-02-18 Cheers guys that's first link would be awesome but expensive Lol Abba stands are good , I will check gumtree now , just thought I can get box section so cheap it would be nice to just build something for the job that's adjustable and fun to make I like the the look of the small scissor jacks punk do you know if the 40 quid ebay ones are ok? Re: Idea for a jacking frame? - Disorderlypunk - 02-02-18 i have been using one similar to this for years http://r.ebay.com/tzMyJV i have had it break on me but i was lifting something much heavier than i should have been and did sit on it when it broke im guessing this is the type you mean still use it today after a quick weld and it lifts the fzs without a problem or even a hesitation by myself |
