Fuel economy - Keith7994 - 18-01-18 Hi I have just purchased my first fz1 on a 2008 took it out on its first run and seems to be very thirsty on the fuel is it just the size of the fuel tank or is there anything I should be looking into that maybe a common problem cheers Re: Fuel economy - Nemesis - 18-01-18 she likes a drink I fill her nearly every ride, enjoy :lol Re: Fuel economy - steve 10562cc - 18-01-18 Thirsty beasts might not have good miles per gallon but the smiles per miles it's excellent Re: Fuel economy - Nemesis - 18-01-18 worth every penny ![]() Re: Fuel economy - Hugh Mungus - 19-01-18 They have quite a small tank so you won't get far without having to refuel. I understand on the Gen 2 Thou the tank range is only around 100 miles to reserve. I've not done an mpg check on my Gen 1 Thou but it's comparable to any large engined bike. Re: Fuel economy - steve 10562cc - 19-01-18 Tank range on my gen2 depends on how big a smile I have, but have managed to get it down to the low 90mpgs, but average is round the 100mpg to reserve. Worst bike I ever owned for mpg was a Suzuki GT750 stroker with a tuned motor and pipes 2O/25mpg on a good day with small smile a large smile and down to sub 20mpg. Re: Fuel economy - Mustang - 19-01-18 35-40 mpg fz1 19l tank, 50 mpg FZS1000 21 l tank. |
