Overheated? - gnm - 24-12-17 Hi all, started the Fazer up last night after about 8 weeks in the shed and left it running for about 20 minutes then it cuts out. When I went to check it there was steam and water coming out from around the rubber overflow pipes behind the exhaust link pipe. I left it to cool down then tried to resart it but only getting a loud clicking from around the positive side of the battery any ideas? Re: Overheated? - Gaz66 - 24-12-17 Probly Thermostat that's failed in it's closed position causing bike to overheat from what u describe? Drop bike onto it's wheels, push it in top gear & check engine will still turn over ? If not motors likely seized as starter motor won't crank it over.. Or you could just have a starter/solenoid/battery/charging issue? Hopefully it's summat simple to fix. Re: Overheated? - gnm - 25-12-17 Ok cheers will try that tomorrow. Was turning over very slow like flat battery but battery was ok beforehand Re: Overheated? - gnm - 04-01-18 Sure enough thermostat stuck, battery flat. New optimiser arrived sat charged it up, topped up coolant and all seems ok now Re: Overheated? - Gaz66 - 07-01-18 Nice one. Glad to help mate :thumbup |
