Not sure where to post this - tommyardin - 19-10-17 I have a friend who owns a 250cc Royal Enfield Continental GT that has a leak in the Fibre Glass fuel tank, the leak appears to be coming from some where around the fuel cock/tap. Anyone know of a company in the South of UK (Hampshire maybe) that specialises in that type of repair? Re: Not sure where to post this - Disorderlypunk - 19-10-17 not sure anyone who does the repair - have heard of this happening on fibrglass tanks from the increasing amount of ethanol in fuel it needs a coating of something like POR15 otherwise it will just keep happening to other areas of the tank. not sure what the correct stuff is as i have only used por15 on steel tanks Re: Not sure where to post this - daviee - 20-10-17 Por15 is now starting to get reports of it failing due to too much ethanol in fuel so not sure it would. Be a long term fix Re: Not sure where to post this - tommyardin - 20-10-17 Fibre Glass Resin and fine glass matting repair, maybe from the outside???????? Re: Not sure where to post this - Disorderlypunk - 21-10-17 por15 is even failing!!! - ooh crap best buy a new tank for the chop then as that has a por15 liner (will replace anyhow as its heavy as fuck) |
