Mystery connectors under the seat - iamthearrison - 04-03-17

After picking up my Fazer last Wednesday, todays been the first chance Ive had to start having a proper poke around it. So, after getting rid of some of the anodized blue bits fitted by a previous owner (on a gold bike? really?), I took the seat off to have a look underneath. No tool kit, but my tool roll fits in fine, with my disc lock and sidestand puck. Noticed its had a datatool evo alarm fitted, as the control box is still there and looks to be still connected, although I dont have the fobs for it. Theres also 2 mystery connectors under the seat, anyone know what theyre for?

Next job is to get rid of the blue screen, once Ive decided what type I want to replace it with.

They look like the ones for the Yamaha official alarm a aftermarket option so you won't need to worry about them unless you remove the alarm that has been fitted already. Do you have two plugs also under seat with black wire loops in each plug if not then that confirms what I have said.

As for the screen it's your choice of colour & design but the bubble screens are no better than the original shape apparently.

In that area probably from an old alarm i'd imagine.

There should be two four pin connectors and a three pin one for the approved accessories alarms.  If an alarm isn't fitted the four pin connectors should have linking connectors in them.  Photo of mine and they haven't been touched since it left the factory.

just a single 4 pin, and a 3 pin here, with no loop connectors in them. I took the rear fairing off to see where the cable from the datatool controller ran, it goes from the controller on the right side, over the back and past the rear light, where theres a blue wire spliced in with the tail light, then around the left side and under the fuse box, couldnt see any further than that without some more dismantling. No sign anywhere of a ssecond 4 pin connector, but there is one that says 'PARK' on it under the rear left fairing panel.

If the bike works ok leave it alone ? I had to fit a new wiring loom to get rid of a very old bloody alarm, drains battery, goes off when it shouldn't f'ing pain in the arse ? I was glad to see the back of it ?
