Centre Stand - JoeyMcEssex - 04-03-17
Last night was first time I tried the centre stand on my Fazer, needed wheels off to fit tyres!!
I thought it was me (5ft7 but medium build) but my 6ft 2 son also struggled to get it up onto the centre stand?
Are they all like this? I may have to get a set of weights and bench Lol

There's a high chance that it's either corroded, or twisted.
When they're twisted they are difficult to put upright. Normally caused by pulling the bike towards you as you do the manoeuvre.
You will not really see if it's twisted until you remove it though.
It's very easy to do, don't be afraid of the spring.
Loosen each side first, then remove one bolt and it will literally just come loose.
Then to reinstall, put one bolt on, attach the spring, then pull the other side into place.
Don't even think about trying to remove the spring first, 'cos that just ain't gonna happen.

Cheers darrsi we got it up by lifting back end pulling it up and back but I could have sworn the fazer's chassis was too low?
will check and see if any evidence of twisting, doesn't look particularly corroded.
Got wheels back 10 minutes ago £30 for both fitted and balanced at Chadwell motorcycles these guys are ace quoted me £40 to unsieze rear caliper and when I went to collect charged £35 inc new seals and bleeding.
While the wheels were off decided to check sprocket nut after reading scare stories, but thankfully everything looks good.

It may have been lowered by a previous owner but think twisted/corroded centre stand is the more likely reason that it's difficult to get up on to the stand.

First time I used my center stand, the first thing that came to mind was how much easier it was to lift up compared to my old CB500. So yeah, sounds like theres something amiss with yours

Stand left hand side of bike with right hand grab the grip on the top of pillion foot rest hanger, other hand on bars foot on centre stand and it should roll up onto the stand fairly easily,lift up as you pull back with your right hand on the hanger grab part.
Sorry my bike is grubby just got back from a ride and it poured down :'(

Tried to lift one of mine onto stand last week wouldn't budge turns out it's cracked & rusted though almost separate ? I'm going to weld a new centre piece if metal is in existence beyond the bad part !

i found mine very easy to get on the center stand and im a short ass so if you struggle then something is deffo wrong

i had similar problem earlier this week - decided the swingarm stand was the way to go
i very rarely use center stands anyhow so will take off to have a look and throw it into my spares cupboard
- took both me and my dad to get it on center stand today and even then it wasnt easy
i would say its f**ked
