Finally got all the garage stuff out the house. Need to build a workbench to slot under the high level sockets. Needs to be strong enough to hold the weight of an engine Smile  Cheers

Very nice Nick - if you have a spare tube then mount it at right angles in between the other two. This will kill any unlit areas due to tubes not lighting from the ends.

They are led lights that have 10 yr guarantee....

What about insulation between the joists, somthing like kingspan which you could just leave as it it is and it will also brighten up the -and sort of make a ceiling, you could go 50mm inbetween and then 50mm on top, not sure what the condensation/ airflow implications would be though.
And blah blah you have a ramp - big deal - I don't see a beer fridge !

Beer fridge is on the menu :lol  I'm still undecided if I'm going to kingspan the ceiling. It's easy enough to do, but not sure about it causing condensation...

Beer fridge  :thumbup
I think that if you put kingspan inbetween the joists and finnished flush with the bottom of the joists so there is a gap above but then leave a 1inch gap at either end so that there is an air flow, you would still get a good heat retention from the insulation and it would make the garage lighter as they are good reflectors being silver, you can cut them a good tight fit and screw in little tabs across each rafter every now and then just to make sure.
As you are only using 500mm strips inbetween you may get some off cuts cheap on ebay

I might get kingspan at some point. Wink
