Searching for FZS1000 and returning to what I miss!!! - AlexD333 - 26-02-17

Howdy all,

thought id get my name out here on the OC and see what I can gather.

Having been riding for around 11 years ive had some pretty fun bikes, my last big boy toy the TL1000R... which I traded for my old 2004 FZS1000!! which I now sorely miss...

searching the web I have found a few net examples of FZS1000s for sale but..

Just wanted some advice about what to look for and what to check, I remember the exup cover 3 8mm bolts...

and on another note is anyone on here selling one?  Big Grin

Thanks in advance!

Alex

Hi and welcome, check out the FAQ on the top of the Fazer Thou page and the for sale section.

I bought my 51 plate Gen.1 Fazer last week and probably paid over the top for it from Nightingales at Rugby, but I bought it on mileage and condition rather than the plate on the back. Yes there are a few small blisters in the silver paint on the engine but otherwise the bike was almost as clean as it came out of the factory. It has 17000 miles on it and one owner from newer. There were cheaper bikes out there, both the same age and newer, but I went to look at one described by the dealer as excellent, £300 less than I paid for mine, it was far from. Every nut and bolt was rusty, it had been dropped on it's right hand side, the inlet rubbers were cracked and generally to say it was a nail was being kind. It's only how I view things but I prefer to buy on condition and service history rather than age and mileage. Smile

Im selling mine but have a lot of family commitments at the moment. It's a right pain but got to prioritise. For the next 2 weeks I am only available on Saturdays and still need to take the autocom and GPS off!

Anyway here it is, if you can do Saturday(s) then I'll sort out the autocom etc ?
