Front brake problem - phil mcglassup - 19-02-17

When slowing down to give way etc, I notice that my front brakes judder quite badly when the speed gets down to approximately walking speed. Any speed above this they are fine. The pads and discs look okay. I was planning on de glazing the pads.

Any thoughts anyone ?

I had that problem years ago, virtually changed the front end of the bike before finding out it was faulty/damaged braided brake lines.

Check that the steering head stock has no play in it.
Just hold the front brake and bounce the front end, if it's loose you'll feel and hear knocking.

A siezed brake piston will push on the disc unevenly and could also cause problems.
