Re: hid - darrsi - 13-02-17

Are they okay with the plastic lens?

Re: hid - darrsi - 13-02-17

Had a bike behind me the other day with the same spotlights as mine, but his headlights matched as well.
He was easy to see.  Smile

Re: hid - daviee - 13-02-17

they are fine with the plasic lens they are less wattage than standard halogen the one i got is only 35 watts so its cooler thaan the low beam but so much brighter

If you are of the opinion swapping an old bulb for a ballast unit, a new bulb and possibly a little bit of extra cabling, they are a straight swap :pokefun

Re: hid - daviee - 14-02-17

If you get the plug and play kit then it's a fairly easy job to do takes longer to hide the ballast boxes than it does to fit them I made a plate up and mounted the ballast boxes on it and hit it under the infill panel on the fairing

Re: hid - Skippernick - 14-02-17

I'll take that as a no then.

Re: hid - Ferky - 15-02-17

I have got hid's in my bike did some messing about with the headlight unit and managed to get two h4 bulbs fitted to it . looks the biz until I took it to get the lights aligned properly at the mot garage , the lights are not projecting a pattern so they cant align them up to the correct angles etc . they recommended putting standard h4 bulbs in ,

Re: hid - BBROWN1664 - 15-02-17

If you got the proper HID kits, you could have put an H1 and an H4 bulb in which may have helped.

When I had mine, the HID kit from HIDS4U was brilliant as I was able to get the beam low enough and straight enough to pass the MOT. Most people though just flick the original bulb back in for MOT time.

Re: hid - daviee - 15-02-17

the plug and play kit is just that but its hiding the ballast boxes that take a bit of work nothing hard but well worth the bother as they are so much brighter
