returning to fzs - ninjabika - 05-02-17 hi all not been on here for a very long time but used to be very active on here with my old fzs and fz1, any how ive just bought a 2001 fzs 1000 and was wondering if anybody recognises it, the guy I got it off has had it 10 yrs and hes done nothing to it really , its got an akro can on it and a Maxton rear shock, id like some idea of any mods that may have been done ideally if its been fitted with a jet kit and which one, martin ![]() Re: returning to fzs - devilsyam - 05-02-17 speak to mike he can tell you how to id if a kits been fitted nice bike by the way and welcome back Re: returning to fzs - Falcon 269 - 06-02-17 I don't recognize the bike but it looks tidy and well-modded. A good chance that it has been rejetted if the other mods are anything to go by. To check, remove the top of one of the carbs (#2 is easiest to work on) and take out the carb diaphragm to inspect the needle. If it's stamped SD-129 or SD-130 around the top, it's stock. A needle with more than one obvious taper is most likely one of Ivan's. To find out which one, see if the airbox lid has been modified and a performance air filter installed. If it has, you've almost certainly got a Fazer with Ivan's MB jet kit and other mods aka the Full Monty. ![]() Re: returning to fzs - ninjabika - 06-02-17 Cheers Mike, I'll Have a look when the Weather warms up a bit know what to look for now, as you say somebody spent money on it in the past, am I correct in remembering that it didn't come with an adjustable clutch lever, this on has Re: returning to fzs - slimwilly - 06-02-17 wow, what a clean bike,,nice find Re: returning to fzs - ninjabika - 06-02-17 it looks a bit ragged around the edges when you get closer, few scratches and dinks, the can has a ripple in it, engine paint is flaking wheels need a polish, just all a bit tired, don't think ill touch it this year just fresh oil and filter, might pull it to bits next winter and get it all painted up but for the moment its got me back on the road, feels like a good engine mechanically everything is bang on martin Re: returning to fzs - bajaru - 10-02-17 :lol :lol Just ride it and enjoy it...only wash it when you find the time!
