Best Downpipes - Andy Clap - 08-01-17

Hello Peeps

So, after 15 years the original downpipes are finally holed.

What's the current thinking on the best stainless replacements, in terms of fitment and value?

I've read in back-posts that Delkevic can be slightly misaligned.  Anybody back this up or otherwise?

Motad seem to fit very well, but have gone bonkers with pricing; £300 !!

Anybody used Black Widow?

Cheers,
Andy

I paid for the motad Downpipes as I heard that other pipes could give carb issues, whether it's true or not is another thing, I just didn't want to find out.

Have sandy bike spares pipes on mine.  No problems with them so far. . Heard good things about black widow though

Aren't Black Widow a new name/product line superceeded from Sandy Bike Spares, sure there was some sort of connection? ?

EDIT: Yes they are http://www.blackwidowexhausts.co.uk/about-us-1-w.asp

Any difference with performance, missing the two cross-linking balance pipes?

Re: Best Downpipes - Buzz - 10-01-17

Give Motad a call.  They asked what I'd seen them for, I said "£139 on Ebay".  They said "No problem", I paid there and then and 3 days later they were on the bike.  They were no problem fitting but I had to use some normal bathroom slicone sealant to fix a small link pipe leak, it's still fine.

Was 2 years ago mind you so factor in inflation.

Re: Best Downpipes - Andy Clap - 10-01-17

Thanks for all the replies.  I called Motad, best price was £250 delivered (price on their site £307).  Some inflation!  :'(

Re: Best Downpipes - Zark - 11-01-17

Put delkevic on mine Bit of a fiddle fitting them in one piece pre-assembled so took it apart and did it in sections. Piece of cake. Come with link pipes between the downpipes so identical to the OEM ones.

Just fitted a set on my bike on thursday went straight on no problems, didn't even need to use the supplied silicone well worth the money.

Re: Best Downpipes - daviee - 29-01-17

the link pipes make no difference to performance mine dont have any and im getting 95 bhp at the rear wheel

Re: Best Downpipes - Bimbam - 29-01-17

Hi Daviee. It is not about max. Horsepower (by the way, 95 bhp from the engine is about 80-85 bhp at the rear wheel). It is about the power delivery in low and mid rev. (Torque).  Max. Horsepower is nice, but I would like max. horsepower and torque all through the revs. From 2.000 rpm to 11.000 rpm.
I think the twin pipes is for more torque with medium rev. But I might be wrong.

Does anybody know?
