16 t Front Sprocket - Carlsv8 - 24-12-16 I'm going to change my front sprocket for a 16t one. Any makes recommended or any bad experiences with certain types. I've read that if the sprocket is harder than the shaft it will wear the shaft and would rather this didn't happen (obviously ). Happy Xmas Cheers Carl Re: 16 t Front Sprocket - daviee - 24-12-16 herd they dont respond well to a bigger sprocket Re: 16 t Front Sprocket - Carlsv8 - 25-12-16 I'm used to bigger engined bikes which are less revvy. Don't spend a lot of time in traffic so I reckon slightly higher gearing will be an improvement, I think the bike has enough poke to handle it. Re: 16 t Front Sprocket - daviee - 25-12-16 from what i herd it spoils them , bus not a dear thing to try it Re: 16 t Front Sprocket - phil mcglassup - 26-12-16 I went up one tooth on the front sprocket on my previous bike (GSX750f) as I used it for longer journeys. I did stall it occasionally, even one up and it became a nuisance. It was marginally better on long journeys as it was running lower revs and economy was slightly better. I eventually changed it back to standard as most modern bikes are designed to rev high. I always kept to the speed limit which helped !! My Fazer seems to enjoy revving it's bollocks off at motorway speeds ![]() Re: 16 t Front Sprocket - tommyardin - 26-12-16 Hi Guys, It may or may not be something to consider when going up a sprocket size, is that the clutch push rod emerges from the engine just in front of the sprocket check that there is enough clearance to accommodate a larger sprocket and if there was any chain slap that the push rod would not be damaged. I'm not sure how close it is as I do not really remember, but I have heard that if the sprocket comes off (Faulty Sprocket Nut) it often screws the clutch push/activation rod. Just a thought. Hope you all had a great day yesterday. I have my bottle of Southern Comfort close to hand. :rolleyes Re: 16 t Front Sprocket - daviee - 26-12-16 6 grand a 75 is hardly reving the bollocks of it Re: 16 t Front Sprocket - Frosties - 26-12-16 (26-12-16, 08:10 PM)daviee link Wrote: 6 grand a 75 is hardly reving the bollocks of it You're not trying hard enough :lol |
