Chain monkey - Kenbob - 16-12-16 does anyone use a chain monkey to set the chain slack. If so does it give the correct slack. Re: Chain monkey - fazerscotty - 16-12-16 I do it myself - haven't found a trustworthy monkey yet............. :rollin :rollin :rollin (Sorry, just had to..) Re: Chain monkey - PieEater - 17-12-16 From personal experience if properly maintained a chain will need very little adjustment once it has gone through the initial stretching process from new. So it's just a question of measuring rather than adjusting the slack to confirm everything is OK. So unless I am missing something this seems to be a solution to a problem that doesn't exist and actually makes a simple job like adjusting the chain more complex than it needs to be :\ As a suggestion posting your question in the General section of the forums would give you a wider range of people who may have had experience of this product. Re: Chain monkey - Kenbob - 17-12-16 I posted in this section merely because the fazer thou runs a slacker chain than the 600 and just wondered if the chain monkey gave the correct chain slack as per the monkey setting. Once you've got it calibrated though it's very reliable with repeatable results. Is it worth £24?? maybe if you've got several bikes. Rob Re: Chain monkey - red98 - 05-02-17 Not seen these before....how do they work ?...ROB R.....you got any piccies ? I must admit I still double check with a steel rule. Mine was a well meant xmas pressie so I can't complain. Rob |
