fz1 headers headers - clumptydumpty - 04-12-16 hi, looking to get my hands on a set of straight through headers for a 2008 fz1. if anyone has a set or knows of a set for sale let me know please=) thanks! Re: fz1 headers headers - MikeH57 - 04-12-16 Are they not straight through as standard? I thought the exup was in the can, rather than in the headers. Re: fz1 headers headers - clumptydumpty - 05-12-16 As far as I know, there is a catylitic convertor in the headers, another in the end can along with an exup valve. I have just fitted a remus powercone so that loses 2 out of three. Re: fz1 headers headers - slappy - 05-12-16 It is easy to remove the cat in the headers, remove end can and if you shine a torch down the hole you can see it, looks a bit like a honeycomb. Just drill a lot of holes round the edge of it and then hit it a few times with a drift and most of it will come out. Then dremel the rough edges off and before you put end can back on start engine up to blow the crap out. I used a magnetic probe to get the bigger bits out first. There are a couple of vids on youtube that show how it is done. Re: fz1 headers headers - clumptydumpty - 06-12-16 Sounds good Ill check it out.. its bloody loud as it is though! Re: fz1 headers headers - slappy - 07-12-16 When I removed the cat in mine I never noticed any real difference in noise level. Re: fz1 headers headers - clumptydumpty - 07-12-16 did you think there was much of a performance change at all?? Re: fz1 headers headers - slappy - 07-12-16 No, soon after I did all my mods I had a custom fuel map done at a local place and got 143 bhp at rear wheel , don't know if removing the cat helped. |
