Gen 2 adjustable dogbone - Rob R - 16-11-16

After fitting an R1 shock I had to lower the ride height (R1  shock is about 1" longer than the FZ1 shock). I checked fleabay and decided I could make an adjustable linkage myself so I bought  a right & left handed M12 rod end bearing and a length of 19mm stainless hex and this is the result. Total cost £12.50!

Tip

Do a trial fit to set length
Undo one end making sure other is fully tight
Note position of lock nut
Get some larger heat shrink and to to length to cover the nuts refit the end and tighten pull know the heat shrink to do this then making sure nuts are covered shrink down
This will ensure all stays together

Looks jolly ingenious & cost efficient to boot!  Big Grin  Nice one!

This Devilsyam fellow has some experience in these matters I believe,
so may be worth heeding!  Wink

Thanks for the advice Devilsyam.
I chose to use a right hand and left hand thread so I could adjust it without having to remove the linkage, I'd not given any thought to protecting the threads...
