Every bit as good IMHO.
I've had 2 of them and 2 Fazer's, had I not been for having back problems I'd probably still have one.
Even with different more upright bars I still struggled, at one point I did consider cutting the fairing so that I could put LSL raisers and higher bar's but couldn't bring myself to do it.
Luckily a friend of a friend saw my VFR and just happened to have a Fazer, the swap was done and I'm more than happy to be back on a Fazer.
I do miss the sound of the VFR with a Staintune can on it, it never felt or sounded strained or overworked no matter how fast it was ridden.
Had Honda brought out a VFR 1000 based on the gear driven cam's of the 750 they'd not have been able to keep up with demand. The V-tec 800 and more so the VFR1200 are not in the same league as the old 750 and have lost Honda a lot of customers.

Yup, exactly what mick said.
I'm 6 2 and sixteen stone, but its reasonably roomy even with a chunky monkey like me onnit. I just had to uprate the shock and front end which had gone baggy after twenty years. can't fault it to be honest, I've just always wanted another gen one, and the perfect bike ( for me) came up so it was a done deal. If I could I'd keep the viffer for commuting I would but I've got four bikes and I had to promise penny ( and mean it) one would go if I got the fazer. The other two are lifetime bikes (old Harley and a mint zzr1100 with 5k onnit me brother in law had in dry storage for over ten years) so it's gotta be the Honda. It's going on evilbay tonight on auction
