throttle problem - freds bitch - 20-09-16 hi can any one help on constant throttle revs rise and fall done plugs will do air filter at weekend the bike run`s sound as i am new to the fazer 1000 its got me ? Re: throttle problem - unfazed - 20-09-16 Rise and fall by how much???? Re: throttle problem - freds bitch - 21-09-16 hi only by about 500 revs best way to describe it say at 3000 she will go up to 3500 and then back down to 3000 like on a wave hope i explained it ok thanks Re: throttle problem - unfazed - 21-09-16 Balance the carbs and set the TPS. See if that resolves it Re: throttle problem - freds bitch - 22-09-16 hi that`s the next step a friend can balance carbs next week TPS a bit of a mystery to me he should know ex mechanic will let you know bud Re: throttle problem - unfazed - 22-09-16 Check for intake air leaks, on both the manifold rubbers and the blanking caps on the stubs for the vacuum gauge on the manifold rubbers. Both can crack and cause issues. Spray WD40 on the rubbers to see if it settles As for the TPS follow this: Lift the tank locate the connector from the TPS. Switch on the ignition, set the kill switch to run. Disconnect the TPS connector and reconnect it. Rev counter should go to 5000. If it stays at 0 or goes to 10000, it is out of adjustment. O will make the bike it feel dead 10000 will not and some set it to 10 as it advances the ignition slightly To set it loosen the 2 Security Torx bolts on the TPS and move it until the rev counter reads 5000. You can always try 10000 or the dynamic setting later Tighten the screws and start the bike or turn the ignition off. Do not overtighten the torx bolts Re: throttle problem - freds bitch - 23-09-16 thanks will let you know the outcome Re: throttle problem - tommyardin - 26-09-16 (22-09-16, 09:00 PM)unfazed link Wrote: Check for intake air leaks, on both the manifold rubbers and the blanking caps on the stubs for the vacuum gauge on the manifold rubbers. Is it the same adjustment process for the baby FZS600. I purchased a set of dial gauges to balance the carbs and it a job to be done in a few weeks (suspension being my priority just now). I'm a sad git I copy and paste useful info from foc-u into a Word document and am compiling a book of 'FOC-U HOW TO' for future reference. If you cannot get it to set correctly than you most likely have a problem with the TPS and would need to replace it Re: throttle problem - freds bitch - 05-10-16 hi unfazed will try that at week end hope your right as the haynes way is above my comfort zone cheer`s Re: throttle problem - unfazed - 05-10-16 :eek :eek :eek ![]() Re: throttle problem - gixersix - 06-10-16 Before my FZS1000 was Full-Monty-ed, that used to surge on light throtttle openings under load but just above tickover - one of the reasons, I wanted the carbs sorting. Awful throttle response for such a refined/civilised bike. |
