location of temperature sensor - crickleymal - 14-09-16 Hi all, Where is the water temp. sensor located? The reason I ask is whenever it pours with rain I see the over temperature light come on or start flickering. I know it's not overheating because it's fine on a baking hot day stuck in the roadworks. Malc Re: location of temperature sensor - unfazed - 14-09-16 Under the tank on the Thermostat housing Re: location of temperature sensor - crickleymal - 15-09-16 Thanks. Looks like a fun Saturday chasing the wiring and changing the chain. Re: location of temperature sensor - Jules-C - 15-09-16 If it only happens when it's raining sounds like water getting into a connector somewhere. Back of the clocks or junction box under tank but these are pretty well protected from the weather but worth taking all the connectors apart and cleaning/spraying them with your favourite magic spray Re: location of temperature sensor - crickleymal - 16-09-16 (15-09-16, 01:25 PM)Jules-C link Wrote: If it only happens when it's raining sounds like water getting into a connector somewhere. It shouldn't be too hard to trace the wiring, presumably something will become apparent. Malc Re: location of temperature sensor - gassitt - 19-09-16 If it only happens when it wet or raining the connector on the sensor at the Thermostat housing will be dirty and the water will cause it to track to earth and affect its resistance . Just clean the connector and the surrounding insulation Re: location of temperature sensor - crickleymal - 20-09-16 Thanks. I'll check that out this weekend if I get a chance. |
