I like all of the concepts shown in that magazine....its as if the manufacturers are blinded to the fact that some bloke from leeds can manage to knock up a top design on his laptop during his lunch hour while they pile millions into making bikes look shit....I cant fathom it.

I know what you're saying but the guy in Leeds is creating something that looks good in a picture and that's it. The guy at Yamaha is thinking about the real world and all the technical issues that have to be solved to create a bike that handles well and makes crazy power without blowing up. All that within a budget where they can still sell it at a competitive price and make a profit. I don't know how they manage it.

Nah, I think Noggy's right. Kar's Retro Reboot's are awesome and could easily be made if the manufacturers had the bollocks to do it.
They're all roughly to scale and all used existing engines/configurations - definitely not beyond the wit of man to build one, they just need the guts to accept that some bloke in Leeds got it spot on and put some resource into making it happen !

The car and bike designers seem to me to be going in opposite directions nowadays. Some of the car manufacturers' top models are absolutely stunning. I'm thinking of Jaguar, Aston Martin, BMW etc...
Why do a lot of the most recent bike models seem to have to have that awkward, angular, transformer look about them?. I don't get it :\

There appears to be a fault with the bike in that picture. The handle bars are lower than the riders arse. How can anyone say that that is a comfy position to ride in? Even the R6 in the picture above this post has the bars slightly higher than the saddle.

I bought a brand new Honda SP2 back in 2003 and the bars were mounted underneath the top yoke. The pain in the wrists was awful. As long as you could keep the bike at 100mph+ it was bearable as the wind pressure would hold you up off the bars relieving the pain, but around town or in slow traffic................
I got rid of it after about 6 months.
I know they sell for big money now but I really didn't care at the time or now.
Very fast, lovely looking bike but definitely the most uncomfortable bike I have ever bought.
