rear brake spring - HarryHornby - 17-08-16 Hi All, My rear brake light spring is more of a rear brake straight piece of metal. Does anyone know (short of going to a stealer) where I could get one from? I can buy a brake leaver and spring off ebay but that's an expensive spring ha ha Re: rear brake spring - darrsi - 17-08-16 I've no doubt there is a spring that is very similar elsewhere, but finding the bugger will be a different story. Cheap enough on here for a brand new correct spring, just a shame about the delivery time. https://www.yamahamotorcyclespares.co.uk/product/yamaha/905062037700/spring,%20tension(46x)?uid=0 Re: rear brake spring - HarryHornby - 17-08-16 I can wait up to 10 days, perfect! thank you :-) Re: rear brake spring - darrsi - 17-08-16 :thumbup Re: rear brake spring - HarryHornby - 17-08-16 that's not the spring I mean, I've just realised. The spring I want is the thinner one that connects up to the brake light. I'll give them a bell and see if they can get it. Mine have ended up just looking like bits of wire before, but it works right? Also in regards to that big spring, i've always taken mine off. Gives a lot better control on the brake imo Re: rear brake spring - BBROWN1664 - 20-09-16 the big spring pulls the pedal back up to stop the rear brake dragging and helps ensure the rear brake light goes off when you take your foot off the pedal. Agree. But, if the brake is well looked after it shouldn't drag. Hydraulic pressure is enough to return the pistons. Never had an issue with brake lights getting stuck on and take it off a few bikes but will bear that in mind |
