Harvest Time - YamFazFan - 07-08-16 Just a quick heads-up, particularly if you ride a lot of the twisty country roads. I noticed several grain spillages from farm tractor trailers around some of the bends today. I've not slid on any thus far, but I imagine it could be pretty dicey if you were leant over mid-corner and rode over a covering of the stuff. A little bit later it will be the tractors with trailers full of straw bales and the clue to this is the small bits of straw on the road before you reach it Re: Harvest Time - dazza - 07-08-16 Wished I'd seen this earlier Re: Harvest Time - Grayo - 07-08-16 (07-08-16, 07:29 PM)YamFazFan link Wrote: Just a quick heads-up, particularly if you ride a lot of the twisty country roads. And don't forget all the mud off the tractor tyres all over the road. Dont suppose all those loose chippings they throw around & call it "resurfacing"!! help when they interfere with the drainage. Counties like Herefordshire notorious in this respect-being large, cash strapped & predominantly farming country-road maintenance is very low on the list of priorities. You notice the difference as soon as you cross into Wales. Re: Harvest Time - joebloggs - 09-08-16 I've stopped and asked farmers to clear the roads outside their fields a few times, especially if its wet. Most sort it out at the end of the day although one more or less told me to foc off, so I had a word with the police, was cleaned up that night...... ![]() |
