Headlight Problem - Not coming on with ignition. - dangerousdave - 30-07-16 Hi there, wonder if anyone can help. My headlights are not coming on when I start the bike. (2003 Gen1 FZS1000) Neither dipped or full beam (sidelights are OK). I have checked the fuse and both lights flash with the pass switch. Any suggestions? Dave... Re: Headlight Problem - Not coming on with ignition. - Dustydes - 30-07-16 Not had problem with a bike But a car of mine had same problem. Could pull back stalk and lights would flash but not stay on, it turned out to be the switch itself was toast. You could try removing switch and spray with good old WD40, couldn't hurt. Good luck Re: Headlight Problem - Not coming on with ignition. - dangerousdave - 30-07-16 Hi Dustydes, Thanks for your reply but headlights come on when the bike is started, unfortunately there is no light switch. Re: Headlight Problem - Not coming on with ignition. - Dustydes - 31-07-16 Lights will flash with pass switch as it bypasses the high/low beam switch which could still be faulty. Failing that try the relay. Side light wont go through relay due to low amp's so will work as separate from High/Dip. Without a wiring diagram I'm guessing but its normally the caseĀ Re: Headlight Problem - Not coming on with ignition. - sirgalahad3 - 31-07-16 Take screen off and check connections at the 2 headlight relays you will see at the bottom of the screen. If I remember correctly ecu sends a negative down the white wire to the relay when the engine has fired to bring on lights. Check wiring diagram to confirm etc. Could be a duff relay but they are normally reliable.. Before this check LOW beam filaments on both bulbs...... |
