No Power to fuel Pump (Gen2 FZ1 ) Need Help Please - chaparral02 - 16-07-16

Hoping someone can help

My FZ1 Gen2 will not start  :wall because there no power (12volt) getting to the fuel pump has anyone got any idea's what could be causing this problem ?

I looked for a Fuel pump relay but could not find one.. If anyone knows if there is a relay for the fuel pump can you reply with where it is ?

Thanks....

I think the relay is in the tail section , sort of inbetween where the rider and passenger seat  sit,  if that makes any sense. Not sure how it is identified though.

Thanks...I take another look..

I notice there a tip up box or something under the rear seat (It has "UP" written on it) could this stop the fuel pump  running if it went faulty ??

Been working on the bike today..

Found out by testing that the Fuel pump has failed and does not work and also that there no 12volt power getting to the wire connection plug that supplies the fuel pump

So it looks like when the fuel pump packed up it broke something else as well...:grumble....:wall....:grumble

Not sure if there a separate fuel pump fuse on those.....

Check the fuse box.

How are you testing the pump?

Finally, does the immobiliser cut the fuel pump pwer....?

No there no separate fuse for the fuel pump..

I checked the fuel pump by taking it out and wiring it up to a 12volt battery..

I still need to find out if the fuel pump shorting out has damaged the imobiliser or ECU or a relay or something else..

It Looks like water getting into the fuel tank  shorted the fuel pump out..(I got about a litre of water out the fuel tank, which seems to get in from around the cap seal when it rains)

Water in the fuel wont short out the pump.
Fuel conducts electricity too and is isolated from the electrics to prevent a fire.

What may have happened though is water getting into the pump has caused corrosion and resulted in the pump seizing.

The Fuel pump electrics inside the fuel tank don't look isolated  to me...

I took these pictures of where my fuel pump connects inside the fuel tank
