Seized torque arm bolts - Pike - 04-07-16
I've been trying to take my torque arm off so I can fit my bluespot rear brake caliper on (and paint the rusted torque arm), but both of the bolts holding the torque arm seem to be seized to extreme.
I've been trying to loosen them up with RP-90 and WD-40, tried heating the bolts up with a blow torch and preceding to smack them with a hammer, but they just won't budge.
I then got out my bolt extractor kit, drilled half way through the bolt, put the left-hand threaded extractor in which is now stuck in the bolt too.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them off? I do have a welder but did not want to do that today, and can't think of what I could weld on to be able to get a good grip on the bolt.

Use a dremal to grind away the nuts or a nut splitter to break the nuts

Sorry I forgot to mention, I've got the nuts off, it's the bolts that won't come out.

Good point, I struggled with mine, they would turn but didn't want to come out. I tapped mine while rotating them and they popped straight out. I wonder if you get a rim of corrosion around the rear of the bolt basically increasing the od of the bolt

Yes, like the rear caliper assy, they re exposed to all the worst the weather/roads can throw at them. Clean out holes in torque arm(wet & dry/WD40) & use smidgin of copper grease on threads when assembling-use correct torque setting.

How about you juts grind off the bolts heads? Than get 2 new bolts and nuts.

All sorted the next day, just needed penetrating oil to get in. bit of twisting and tapping and they came off.
