V-v-v-v-vibration - grizzler - 19-06-16 Does anyone know a good way of getting rid of handle bar vibration. Anyone who has seen my "I'm flumoxed" thread will know I have replaced my engine. After testing, it would seem I have inherited a vibration between 70&80 mph. Any tips or tricks to help reduce or eliminate said vibration chaps??? Yep, good shout, makes a huge difference to performance, and also the sound of a bike! Re: V-v-v-v-vibration - Carter - 19-06-16 It would point to something amiss with the new engine but it may be worth checking your front wheel balance. Failing that, you could try a bar snake, never used one but I believe they work well on a lot of bikes. Re: V-v-v-v-vibration - TOADY - 19-06-16 Yep I've as gonna suggest a barsnake too. Used one for my vibey tdm850 had good results. Re: V-v-v-v-vibration - unfazed - 19-06-16 Keep the chain well lubricated, Check the carburettors are balanced Set the TPS, and finally, Get a large diameter washer ideally about 30 to 35mm to fit the mounting bolt of the exhaust bracket. Remove the exhaust mount bolt to the right foot rest. Place the washer between the inner side of the footrest mount and the exhaust bracket. Tighten it to 20Nm Re: V-v-v-v-vibration - celticdog - 20-06-16 So vibration is eliminated by damping and you've recently fitted a new engine? Check the frame rubbers and engine mounts, are you still using oem handlebars? Re: V-v-v-v-vibration - unfazed - 20-06-16 Didn't see the replaced engine bit. There are a few thrust coversĀ and insert (collar) on/in the front mount which can fall out and are easily missed. If they are missing it will cause extra vibration |
