wot did i do.... - anutz - 03-06-16 is this normal or abnormal tyre wear.....not sure if its the way i have ridden or a fault or something else? Its off my GSXR, not the FZS600, i have done probably 3500+ miles on it may be a silly question but in the 2 years i been riding i only had to change a rear due to punctures, this is the first one i had on from new till the state it is in..... I do mainly country riding, lots of corners etc, but this is bang in the center, all i can say is i have started some motorway stints last few weeks but surprised this would happen, unless its normal ![]() Anutz Re: wot did i do.... - Bretty - 03-06-16 I've never seen anything like that, but then I've not been through that many tyres myself, Perhaps a manufacturing fault, just very worn and/or maybe tyre pressures too high? I'd be tempted to email the tyre manufacturer and ask their opinion? Re: wot did i do.... - AndyL - 03-06-16 Is there anything odd on the sidewall? Will get some more pics tonight, but, no, side walls look fine, this strain pattern appears at other places around the circumference, just not sure if its normal or not but never seen it.... Re: wot did i do.... - unfazed - 03-06-16 That happens before you reach the canvas. Probably about a 100 miles riding, away from the canvas, change the tyre now. Re: wot did i do.... - unfazed - 03-06-16 Yes, you missed the indicators by a good mile or two :lol Re: wot did i do.... - joebloggs - 03-06-16 Told ya it would eat tyres if you use it properly. Thats not to bad tbh, had chunks fly off the tyres during some very high speed cruising (bike was a little over loaded at the time) Re: wot did i do.... - anutz - 03-06-16 (03-06-16, 07:18 PM)joebloggs link Wrote: Told ya it would eat tyres if you use it properly. Indeed you did m8 :b , i was just surprised how it has worn, but then i have no idea what to expect so now i do! lol Re: wot did i do.... - joebloggs - 03-06-16 How many miles did you get out of it? Re: wot did i do.... - joebloggs - 03-06-16 It's OK just read the 1st post properly Your not trying hard enough lol Re: wot did i do.... - anutz - 03-06-16 (03-06-16, 08:23 PM)joebloggs link Wrote: It's OK just read the 1st post properly I think its more like 2800-3000 miles in reality. Re: wot did i do.... - unfazed - 03-06-16 You will just have to find a road with more corners :lol Re: wot did i do.... - sinto607276 - 12-06-16 "Wot did I do?" Simple answer, you used a gsxr :rollin Have you got the newer tyres on yet mate? Have they made a difference? Re: wot did i do.... - anutz - 13-06-16 Hi Sinto, yep!!!! Got PP3's will go get a pic of them, very nice, were a little stubborn to lean in first few miles, but now i have scrubbed them in back to normal... Just need to make sure i consider the tyres a little more now....at least for the first 5 minutes of riding it ![]() Re: wot did i do.... - joebloggs - 13-06-16 Gas it hard out of corners and back off the throttle when vertical Did that on my ZX10 and the edges were bald before the centre |
