Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - Tubz1983 - 01-04-16 Just a quick one, spoke to the garage and their advise was 32F 36 R? The Missis is a ant (45kg) but I'm around 93kg. Thoughts or experience ? Thanks Re: Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - darrsi - 01-04-16 I would always go 42 rear with a pillion Re: Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - misterjayb1 - 01-04-16 Personally I would be upping the preload on the rear shock than altering recommended tyre pressures. Just my 2 penneth ![]() Re: Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - darrsi - 01-04-16 Depends a lot on how often you plan on carrying a pillion, will it be long distance or just a lift, etc. You don't really want to keep messing with the rear shock for instance if it's just for the odd occasion, because it'll spoil the bike when you're out on your own again. I always have my rear tyre at 40psi anyway, others prefer 42psi, and that's without a pillion, although I do have a permanent top box fitted. Re: Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - Frosties - 01-04-16 I run 36F & 40R with PR 4's and find it suits me well - other manufacturers recommend their own pressures. Check the max cold pressure on the tyre side wall. Re: Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - celticdog - 02-04-16 From the service manual, sticking a bit more in the rear seems to be the preferred option! And 2.5 is 36psi for the front. I always run 36/40. Re: Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - unfazed - 02-04-16 Why not just go to the Bridgestone Motorcycle tyre site and see what the manufactures recommend A quick check of their site recommends 2.5bar (36psi) front and 2.9 bar (42Psi) rear Re: Bridgestone Bt021 pillion pressure - Tubz1983 - 03-04-16 Ok so sheringham was lovely and I ran 36/32 on the way wich was ok, put 38 in the rear on return and felt a bit more spritely so I'm still fiddling, but thanks for all the imput, a lot of this seems to be rider/bike inividual within certain boundaries ![]() |
