Helmets - Skippernick - 26-10-15
So after my off last week with face plant, I need a new helmet.
My old one is an AGV S4 Trendy.
My local dealer used to stock AGV but don't know as they feel the quality has gone down hill over the last 4 years. They now stock Shoei and Shark.
Got to spend a lot with Shoei to get to what i like so looking at Shark.
Any one own a shark what do you think?

Already decided my next helmet is going to be a Shark Skwarl - currently with a Shoei GT air which to me, is over priced.

You REALLY need to try before you buy.
What's good for one person might fit you like a biscuit tin.
Best to go to a shop that has a large range and take your time.
Be careful with returns policies online with lids, they're a bit like pants, once you've given them a whirl they're not too keen on having them back.

Only when it rains - visor closed and you go about your business......slow down, pop the visor and it dribbles down the inside of the pinlock. 60mph + in rain and you have to shut the chin vent.....else it fills with water and then sprays up the inside of the pinlock - not what I'd expect from any feckin helmet to be honest. Currently running without the chin curtain so if it does rain then I can keep visor and chin vent shut, allowing air up the chin and no misting. Had it 18 months and whilst I love the style, fit etc it's getting changed come next summer.

I had my shark s900c for two years now and it fits my shape head really well. Brought from MCN show for 160 i think and will be buying the shark vision r this time round.

I've got a shoei xr1100 had it a couple of years and looking forward to the time I can get rid and move back to Arai, nothing major wrong with it just got an Arai shaped head.

Love my Arai lid, but never been a fan of the visors.
Tried several and for some weird reason they don't dispel water like i think they should.
Had a Shoei lid years back where a tilt of the head would get rid of any water droplets by wind assistance, but the Arai visors seem to attract water and not let go. I've tried all sorts of potions to aid the cause but found that only a finger Vee Wipe works efficiently.
