EXUP Lube - fazerscotty - 16-10-15 Its Friday night..... So what does everyone use for lube? On the EXUP valve of courseĀ ![]() Re: EXUP Lube - slappy - 16-10-15 When I had my gen1 I used a lithium based grease that I had lying around the garage, in six years of ownership I never had any trouble with the exup valve. ![]() Re: EXUP Lube - nickodemon - 16-10-15 Lithium or ceramic grease seems to work well. If you don't have that a good dose of copper grease should work fine. ![]() Re: EXUP Lube - dickturpin - 16-10-15 Ive used ceramic and copperslip....not sure which is best Re: EXUP Lube - nickodemon - 16-10-15 ceramic is supposed to last longer, as it copes better with heat. I cut grooves (like a thread) down the far end exup bearing on one of my fazers and it hasn't been touched for ages. It was a yamaha dealer that said he had been doing it for years with great results. I have to say he was right as i have owned mine since 2005 and it has worked perfectly. When i bought the bike new the exup started sqeaking after 500 miles and i was not impressed! Cutting a fine thread round the exup bearing surface traps grease, so it requires less maintenance. :thumbup Re: EXUP Lube - esetest - 17-10-15 Silkolene pro racing grease . Re: EXUP Lube - MrGimly - 17-10-15 Anything thats slippy including sex lubeĀ ![]() Re: EXUP Lube - PieEater - 18-10-15 I currently use copper grease but will change to ceramic when the tube runs out. Re: EXUP Lube - VNA - 20-10-15 I'd reckon a lithium grease would be burn't off in a few miles. I use copper ease. Re: EXUP Lube - slappy - 20-10-15 Never burnt off on mine, whenever I serviced the exup I had to clean the old grease off first. |
