Do you show the finger on close calls? - Val - 22-09-15 Recent post here got me thinking, the actual video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auH5d1UctBE I must admit sometimes I can't resist too. I know is not safe and in fact in the similar scenario I almost crashed because of waving the left hand too much :lol Anyhow do you show the finger and when? Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - downey - 23-09-15 well in that instance id be too busy shitting myself to raise the finger ,but in general of course the finger is all we have without breaking some laws regarding kicking mirrors off :lol Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - hotmetal - 23-09-15 Holy cow! How did he stay so calm? Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - joebloggs - 23-09-15 You have to be careful sometimes when dishing out abuse, bloody taxi driver started pulling out in front of me so I stopped and told him exactly what I thought..........when he pointed out that I'd left my indicator on......Ahem! Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - risticuss - 23-09-15 I was driving the car a couple of weeks ago coming upto a roundabout in the right hand of two lanes, the right hand one being marked for traffic to go straight across, the left hand one for traffic turning left. Two bikes then appear from behind, in the left hand lane, the first one goes straight across. The second, now just behind and stuck in my blind spot, opts to cut across the back of me and overtake ridiculously close to the central reservation, and almost wipes himself out. He then gives me the finger, all because he couldn't or didn't read the road signs. Made me angry that I could've knocked him, and his passenger, off. Took me a while to calm down and think he'd just assumed that the roundabout was like most others in that you normally go straight on in the left lane. Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - clayt74 - 23-09-15 I tend to use the loose fist wave (5 finger shuffle) purely cos with my gloves on it is more prominent than a 1 finger salute. Do you show the finger on close calls? - mickvp - 23-09-15 Depends on the situation. I tend to stay calm as shouting at these types of people doesn't make much difference. Oh and, sometimes some instant karma helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZAAlXXGtMI Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - esetest - 23-09-15 the standard of driving is so bad nowadays I don't bother or I would be permanent bad mood . Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - lew600fazer - 23-09-15 Today, I had a good chuckle to myself. I was sitting in traffic at lights. Filtering in Spain is frowned upon(I've been fined €200.00). A guy in a BMW(R1200GS) pulls up beside me, gives me the BMW look, lights change, he guns it and rockets in front of two cars that were ahead. He has to stand on everything as he did not see the wee Citron 2cv that was turning left. He hit it that hard he popped the rear window and spun the 2cv around. Well being a fellow biker I rode around the carnage, parked up lent a hand to lift the bike, heavy bastards them things. The lad was a brit lives out here as well. Thankfully he was okay as was the driver. Guess what the smug look he gave me before all this happened had gone when he removed the Lid. I know you should never wish a fellow biker grief but this smug bastard!!!!never even said thanks. Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - slappy - 23-09-15 I tend to give the "wanker" sign, makes me feel better. Re: Do you show the finger on close calls? - joebloggs - 23-09-15 After reading this thread do you think that it's us motorcyclists that are the greatest threat on the road |
