2l  concentrate £6 p/l
2l premix  £5 p/l
Is it really that expensive to boil a kettle?

I've not bought any for years but the car and the bike I have noticed that manufacturers use pre-mixed stuff designed to go with the alloys in their engines rather than generic stuff. If I needed some I would probably buy the pre-mixed stuff from the dealer (not Halfords).
I did hear of one from Toyota that crystallised if water was added as a top up meaning you had to flush and replace the whole lot rather than just top it up unless you bought the Toyota specific stuff.

Similar applies to windscreen wash. Much better value to buy the concentrate, then mix it to whatever strength you wish according to the season. Although it's worth checking the freeze protection level of the undiluted concentrate as it tends to vary between brands (ie some can be watered down more than others to give the same protection).

I think maybe the pre-mix is marketed to people who tend to let it run dry or maybe they just can't be bothered to mix up :rolleyes.

I always use Motul Motocool, about £6 a litre.
Tried and tested in hot/cold weather all year round.
If you can spend that on a couple of pints in a pub that you're gonna piss down a drain in a few hours then I can certainly buy my bike a decent drink that'll protect it for a couple of years!

Can have a brew at the same time as doing the mixing.
