Seat question - joebloggs - 07-09-15
There is a huge gap between the seat and the tailpiece, there doesn't appear to be anyway of adjusting the seat to get it to line up, unless somethings missing
So my question is. did they change the seat/tailpiece at any point during the production from 98 to 03?
I believe my bike has a later tail fitted after it was crashed be a previous owner

mines pretty much the same, can "solve" this by padding the hook at the back on the top of it to push it down a little further but its no real issue.

haha, no but looks the same as mine... My seat is in no way loose though so if yours is then maybe needs the hook at the back slightly adjusted..
Here's a pic of mine, can see the gap is the same.

Haha, it was only a poor effort if the seat was supposed to sit right against the bodywork which in the case of the fazer I don't think it was...
It's a lot more obvious with the grab rail off too.

Im gonna say that the gap is indeed big compared to mine, I know this from polishing the side panels I cannot get my finger between them and the seat and always end up getting white residue on the seat cause I cant be bothered to take it off but then I have to- to get the residue off that is now also sitting on the top of the panels.
I dont think that whoever refitted after spraying has put them back quite right

I've taken them off and put them back on again several times, still the same. And tbh with the front mounting bolts having a shoulder almost the same diameter as the holes in the tail piece I cant see there being enough vertical adjustment to make any difference.
Will try packing the area above the seat bracket at the rear and see if that helps

It is just another one of those things that makes the original 98 version the best :evil , I think the rest were just knocked out for speed to meet demand created by the 98 version. Think of it like a show home where they make an extra effort on the workmanship.
