Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - unfazed - 28-08-15 For those who are interested I just uploaded this to the download section under useful stuff. This clears up all the confusion of EXUP working :eek Re: Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - schlumpf - 28-08-15 Very nice found! Thank you. And matches to my real-life measurements: http://cvieth.bplaced.net/bilder/elektronik/FZS_Exup_TNDF71.JPG http://cvieth.bplaced.net/bilder/motorrad/exupdummy/FZS_mit_ohne_Exup.JPG Re: Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - slappy - 28-08-15 Quite interesting to see how the baffle works in the original exhaust as well. Re: Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - unfazed - 28-08-15 (28-08-15, 08:39 PM)schlumpf link Wrote: Very nice found! Thank you. I presume your dummy is to simulate the exup when the valve has been removed. I think the diagram relates to the R1 as I found it last June when trying to resolve a problem with a non starting "stolen recovered R1" and forgot about it until I was looking for a fazer file this morning. Re: Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - schlumpf - 28-08-15 Correct, the dummy is used to eliminate the fault code. Fakes identical (electrical) behaviour for the ECU. The Exup seems to be work the same way since FZR until present. Do you have the original link for the diagram? Re: Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - unfazed - 28-08-15 Unfortunately Schlumpf I do not have the link :'( Re: Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - mark g - 30-08-15 On a slightly different note, I wonder why nearly everybody always changes the end can? you'd think that Yamaha would it licked when it came to power with the OEM item Re: Diagram of how the EXUP valve works - Grahamm - 30-08-15 (30-08-15, 05:18 AM)mark g link Wrote: On a slightly different note, I wonder why nearly everybody always changes the end can? you'd think that Yamaha would it licked when it came to power with the OEM item Probably because, like with the FZ6's Engine Map, they've had to make compromises (or fiddles) to fit in with legislation and licensing requirements. |
