Hobgoblin Con - fazersharp - 18-08-15 Now then I quite like a glass of Hobgoblin of an occasion because it is a little stronger mmmmmmmmmmmm. So was looking at a mini barrel in the supermarket, its already pint for pint more expensive this way but look again what else ! Re: Hobgoblin Con - slimwilly - 19-08-15 Less alchohl or what ? Re: Hobgoblin Con - fazersharp - 19-08-15 Exactly. And quite a lot less, already the barrel works out more expensive per pint so with the less % it should be much cheaper as there is less duty. I haven't got any stella in at the moment to check but that used to be 5% and I think now it is 4.8% which is the same as a price increase Re: Hobgoblin Con - darrsi - 19-08-15 (19-08-15, 09:32 AM)fazersharp link Wrote: Exactly. "...I haven't got any stella in at the moment..." I'm surprised you haven't beaten the wife into getting you some? :rollin :rollin :rollin Re: Hobgoblin Con - fazersharp - 19-08-15 I dont know why it is said about stella as its only 5% ---or was Re: Hobgoblin Con - celticdog - 19-08-15 That is a con, and well spotted with the ABV figures! I'm also a fan of Hobgoblin. I quite like a pint of it on cask at the pub . . . but my absolute favourite is Timothy Taylor's Landlord, unfortunately it's very rarely on special offer :'( Re: Hobgoblin Con - darrsi - 19-08-15 (19-08-15, 11:46 AM)fazersharp link Wrote: I dont know why it is said about stella as its only 5% ---or was http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-494149/Where-did-wrong-beer-wife-beater.html Re: Hobgoblin Con - BBROWN1664 - 19-08-15 Stella is my bottled lager of choice but not the UK brewed shite. I only normally drink the stuff I import myself from France. Tastes much better. Re: Hobgoblin Con - fazersharp - 21-08-15 Today I will mostly be drinking Old Crafty Hen 6.5 % mmmmmm ! thanks to my local co-op 3 for £5. Now in asda and sainsburys this is never included in the 3or 4 for £5 and is usually well over £2.50 a bottle, somtimes £2.80. So thank you co-op. Re: Hobgoblin Con - Kosmic Kartman - 21-08-15 I nip down to my local Lidl in Stowmarket and pick up bottles of Hobgoblin for £1.20... Sometimes they are reduced to £1.17. I usually fill the trolly up with four or five boxes (12 bottles a box). |
