smelly gloves - maddog04 - 05-08-15 think the question has already been raised but I can't find it.............................hands stink when I take them outta me gloves......don't want to wash gloves incase I foc em up so what do you all do/use to keep yer gloves/mitts smelling right? Re: smelly gloves - JoeRock - 05-08-15 Stick them in the freezer overnight - will kill the bacteria in them and will stop them smelling for a bit Re: smelly gloves - noggythenog - 05-08-15 +1 for sticking them in the freezer....you can do that with footwear to to help kill or prevent athletes foot. make up some kind of Tea-tree oil spray maybe if you don't want to buy the expensive shoe and foot cleaning one from boots and spray the inside with it and then freeze them. Re: smelly gloves - andybesy - 05-08-15 Anti bacterial spray to kill the bacteria. Short term baking soda (not baking powder) or fabreeze can also help. Andy Re: smelly gloves - Grahamm - 05-08-15 Buy a bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol for a fiver eg like this, mix it 50/50 with water in a spray bottle and spray it over/ into the gloves to kill the bacteria, then leave to dry. Works well and doesn't harm leather :thumbup Re: smelly gloves - Chris - 05-08-15 Be careful with IPA if you go for that option. it removes all the oils from things so can damage some materials. I would use some kind of APC or All Purpose Cleaner diluted down with water and use a toothbrush to scrub the inside then rinse out with water and leave to dry naturally, not over a heater as this can dry out the leather and damage it. Chris Re: smelly gloves - maddog04 - 07-08-15 cheers in the freezer as we speak (better get them out before er indoors comes in :lol will try spraying them too Re: smelly gloves - Tmation - 07-08-15 Use a UV lamp, thats what they use where your buy used boots like ex army boots etc plus hire skating/bowling boots etc, it is also used in a lot of sewage plants to kill bacteria. |
