Reckon I'd buy that. I see MT-01, Bonnie, Diavel, Harley... a real Heinz bike. Love it.

Yeah, I really really like that!  especially in the green.  Scramblers seem to be all the rage at the mo.

Re: New XSR 700 do you like it? - celticdog - 25-07-15

It's a real looker, I wonder how the list price will compare to the Triumph Scrambler.

Yes1 Based on the MT-07 with "old skool" round headlamp, different fuel tank. Black frame detailing, round speedo. IMO has the makings a a good seller if they make it price competititive. There is also a variant fuel tank in "brushed aluminium".
I can vouch for the fun factor of the parallel twin engine.

Yes it looks like great fun, I also like the look of Ducati scrambler , 750 is plenty big enough for country lanes and short trips to the seaside , wouldn't want to go long distances or spend all day on , but I have the gen 1 for that.

nah its ugly as a badgers ass.
it'll be a bugger to keep clean with all that nooks/crannies.

Re: New XSR 700 do you like it? - Oldgit - 25-07-15

no, it's bits and bobs of of retro type bikes--just dont quite look right. :pc

Re: New XSR 700 do you like it? - Dead Eye - 25-07-15

Hmm... looks quite nice to me. I didn't expect to like it as I don't really like the MT-07 or MT-09... not that I can afford to get another bike; new or otherwise

I like the overall effect, but as johnakay says, there are too many nooks and crannies,  it's definitely not a sleek looking bike.
Very similar to the tracer in that it's as if they just kept adding parts then paint them all black to try to hide them.
That said, I do like it. It's a bit like an impressionist painting; stop looking at all the individual bits and step back to appreciate it as a whole.

Re: New XSR 700 do you like it? - celticdog - 26-07-15

good- retro looks, decent quality finish, easy to work on, engine looks like a stressed member
bad- no infills at rear brake reservoir, gap above the shock, thin spoked wheels, ugly exhaust box . . .

Just my opinion though. As I've said earlier it'll come down to price, scramblers are the 'in' bike at the moment.

I quite like it. It's much better looking than that ugly Triumph scrambler that looks like the exhaust was an afterthought.

You're right! It's one ugly mother foccer of an exhaust!

Re: New XSR 700 do you like it? - redfox1 - 26-07-15

Needs sweeping side panels-looks incomplete without them.

Re: New XSR 700 do you like it? - bri h - 26-07-15

I would love one as a second bike as for too many nooks and crannies I see the point but they're for riding not polishing.  :lol.

I thought for a moment that was packing a pair of missiles!

I like the look of that more than the MT07.

Theres some very tasty aftermarket exhaust systems available for the MT-07 now (apart from the ridiculously priced Akrapovic) so should be easy to improve the looks unlike the Triumph

I think it's a great city bike
