Rear caliper bolts - phonesurgeon - 11-07-15

Where can I find the bolts for rear caliper? I need the 2 that attach to bracket and the 2 that bolts the caliper together. Thank you in advance.

Ouch £11.88 a piece? Total £47.52 that's a bit steep....

Do a free breakers yard search.
Replies by email only.

Or, ask Deefer, he's having a clearout.

You can get them from Yamaha for about £8 a bolt:

https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/4158523/fzs600-fazer-5dm1-1998-070-a/rear-disc-and-caliper

Or you can go to your nearest fasteners nuts and bolts outlet and get better ones for about £1.

The bolt that is for the caliper to hanger bracket is M10 x 35mm 1.25 pitch partial thread flanged bolt.

It is hard to find flanged partial thread bolts. I just bought non flanged M10 x 35mm and added an washer. The grade of the original is I beleive 7. The one I bough is 12. Means way better bolt for a pound.

I bought them from my local guys at Wokingham:

Obviously you need to find your nearest fasteners nuts and bolts outlet.

Or search ebay for: hex bolt M10 x 35mm 1.25

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xhex+bolt+M10+x+35mm+1.25.TRS0&_nkw=hex+bolt+M10+x+35mm+1.25&_sacat=0

For £4.5 you can get Titanium bolts:

Wow thanks for that, my local outlet didn't have any flanged partial thread.
EBay titanium bolts looks good.
Thanks again now all I need is the rebuild kit for caliper....

I am not sure how wise is to rebuild it yourself. First we are talking about brakes here not common DIY stuff, its your life at stake  Smile

Second buying rebuild kit £44 is more expensive than sending your caliper for professional rebuild cost with labour £39 here:

These guys also offer refurbishment as well.

Re: Rear caliper bolts - phonesurgeon - 13-07-15

I ve rebuild brake caliper on my current car about 5 months ago. Both pistons are in a very sorry state, so neither the £39 or the £44 service will sort it out. As soon as i get all the parts i will treat the 2 half of the caliper in a solvent bath then a thorough clean then rebuild. For that have been quoted between £135-£175.

That does not make any sense to me. £44 is the price of the parts only you will gonna need for the rebuild.

You can exchange your caliper for £62 at these guys. You send your old caliper they send you back the same model Profesionally refurbished.

No offence but I really doubt DIY refurbishment you may do will be better or cheaper.

But again I understand you I like to mend stuff on my bike too, if you want to do that go ahead and do it  :lol
