Is this normal? - 7omly - 30-06-15 I'm a bit perplexed. I pulled up next to another Fazer today and noticed it it had a different speedo to mine. Mine has a 260mph speedo. The other Fazer had a 260kph/160mph. Mine has no kph scale. Is this normal? Re: Is this normal? - Paulfzs - 30-06-15 notice your "mph" sticker that is covering a kmh print. it will have a speedo healer built in to take it to mph. Re: Is this normal? - clayt74 - 30-06-15 Or if it doesn't have a healer fitted, you have been riding very slowly lol. Re: Is this normal? - BBROWN1664 - 30-06-15 :agree That is the speedo off of a European bike. Your bike may be a parallel import rather than a genuine UK bike or the speedo may have been changed for a euro one. Re: Is this normal? - fazersharp - 30-06-15 Yep definitely a MPH sicker over the KPH Re: Is this normal? - celticdog - 30-06-15 Hi 7omly, in top gear at around 5000 revs have a look at what the speedo reads . . . Is it 60 or 100? This will tell you if your reading Mph (60) or Kph (100) :rollin Anyway, 260mph! that's the top end of this Porsche 9FF, even if it is blue :lol Re: Is this normal? - Paulfzs - 30-06-15 (30-06-15, 09:45 AM)celticdog link Wrote: Hi 7omly, I know some people make a lot of stuff up on here to look cool but come on man.. a blue car doing 260mph... only a black car can go that fast. Re: Is this normal? - 7omly - 01-07-15 Around 60mph at 5000rpm. The good news is I can simply replace it with a genuine UK speedo? Anyone got one going cheap? You will have to remove that if you fit a UK speedo. Re: Is this normal? - 7omly - 02-07-15 Thanks BBROWN1664, I thought as much. I'm hoping it's just behind the speedo. To get a replacement with a time clock isn't easy as most are the earlier 1998-99 ones. It's still a fantastic bike and has rekindled my love of riding. The divvy was more or less for commuting but the Fazer is for everything because it's just fun to ride. I even find myself riding when it's rainy instead of using the car. ![]() Re: Is this normal? - Paulfzs - 02-07-15 buy the number sheet thing that i posted above for £20. job done. Re: Is this normal? - BBROWN1664 - 02-07-15 7Omly - The connectors are different on the later speedos. it wont be a straight plug in job. Re: Is this normal? - 7omly - 02-07-15 My bike is a 2000 FZS600S with the time clock on it. I thought of buying the dial but was too keen on taking off the speedo needle. If I buy that dial will I have to remove the speedo healer. At 70 my needle is only one third of the way round the dial but on UK bikes 70mph is almost half way round. Re: Is this normal? - Paulfzs - 02-07-15 the healer is just a box with a plug on it. get a decent set of pliers on the needle itll be fine Re: Is this normal? - 7omly - 02-07-15 Thanks for the advice. I'm now unsure if the clocks are even off the right bike. Mine have odometer, trip one, trip two and time clock respectively when you press the top button. However I've seen what I assume are later boxeye clocks with a separate LCD display at the bottom of the rev counter. The more I look into it the more confused I am. Re: Is this normal? - Paulfzs - 02-07-15 post a picture of your whole clocks. Re: Is this normal? - 7omly - 03-07-15 Here are the clocks on the bike. Please correct me if I am wrong, but if you fit a new U. K. speedo face obviously the needle will then not read correctly, you will have to remove the electrical corrector box. But the bike will then record the mileage in kilometres as it is a genuine European speedo you have stuck the new face onto! I think? Re: Is this normal? - BBROWN1664 - 05-07-15 Decoke If you convert the speedo (as 7Omly's has been done) the odometer starts to increase in miles instead of km's from the point of the conversion. |
