How to clean your leathers - HarryHornby - 01-06-15 Sorry to post such a girly post. How do YOU clean your leathers? I've had a look on line and got things from jet wash (REALLY?), stand in shower, wear them and wash them in shower, soapy water and microfiber cloth with leathers on hanger, take to professional, saddle soap, dubbin, boot polish etc etc BUT, you guys know the best of everything, so come on, best way to clean leathers?? Re: How to clean your leathers - the cueball - 01-06-15 I use Dr Leather wipes for all my leather (bike stuff, car seats, jackets, sofas) quick and easy to use. http://www.drleather.com/Leather-Cleaners/Our-Leather-Cleaner-Range/Wipes-Range.aspx Re: How to clean your leathers - dazza - 01-06-15 I sponge mine down with a leather cleaner, then with a different sponge, work some conditioner/restorer in and leave to soak in. Leaves them nice, clean, supple and shiny ( for a bit) Re: How to clean your leathers - bigralphie - 01-06-15 Warm water and a tough of baby shampoo use a micro fibre cloth just dont soak em ![]() Re: How to clean your leathers - Tmation - 01-06-15 The best bet if worn for a few years is a professional clean. to clean and feed them yourself, use a product like above or cleaner followed by restorer from somewhere like this http://www.getgeared.co.uk/Motorcycle_Leathers/Motorcycle_Leathers_Accessories?gclid=CNS565LV7sUCFQTLtAodOHEAwg Proper cleaners http://www.johnsoncleaners.com/services/specialist-dry-cleaning/motorcycle-leathers/ http://www.scrubbersleathers.co.uk/ Or this place in Maidstone Kent might be able to help. I found the nikwax stuff on t'internet, they even do a Motorcycle leathers cleaning kit, has the two bits you show there Dazza, some stuff for boots, gloves and visor, £20, looks the way to go. If it's good enough for Dazza........ Mine aren't knackered (yet) but just need the flies and grime removed, I strangely trust you guys more than the rest of the internet :kiss re, leather repairs in Maidstone, that is a useful place to keep a note of, thank you :-) Re: How to clean your leathers - locksmith - 01-06-15 I've always used warm water with a touch of washing up liquid. Lightly sponge them clean of flies etc. When dry apply saddle soap with a damp sponge then buff up with an old t shirt. Re: How to clean your leathers - Dead Eye - 01-06-15 This all seems like a lot of effort... I'll probably just take mine to a dry-cleaners... Re: How to clean your leathers - Hamos - 01-06-15 I get the flies of the same evening with plane water and soft sponge. May be a bit of Auto Glym leather cleaner, then some Auto Glym leather restorer rubbed in sparingly and leathers left to dry. Re: How to clean your leathers - Grahamm - 01-06-15 Saddle soap and a good conditioner afterwards or take them to a professional leather cleaners :thumbup Re: How to clean your leathers - fazersharp - 01-06-15 (01-06-15, 05:22 PM)Hamos link Wrote: I get the flies of the same evening with plane water and soft sponge.Yep same here and that about it Re: How to clean your leathers - celticdog - 02-06-15 I use this high end product- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wizz-Leather-Clean-Feed-750ml/dp/B00B5A4NGG You can sometimes get it in poundland or other such fine retail establishments ![]() Re: How to clean your leathers - Grayo - 02-06-15 I've used Nikwax on walking boots, etc, and it is crap. About as waterproof as bog paper. Best product I have found yet for leather is Renapur. Also, it won't dry out even if you leave the lid off the pot. Top stuff. :thumbup Re: How to clean your leathers - John Silva - 02-06-15 :agree Renapur is brilliant stuff I've never used anything else.
