Fairing conversion / replacement - jongoober - 07-05-15

Hi all!

I recently dropped my fzs600  :'( Luckily the bike is ok apart from the fairing. It's cracked down the right side with a big chunk coming off.

Instead of fixing / replacing the fairing I've decided I'd like to look into removing the fairing completely and putting on twin headlights.

My main issue is I'm not too sure how this works considering the clocks protrude from the bike a lot and I can't see how I'd fit the headlights on. I can only imagine I would either need to replace the clocks with something smaller (aftermarket digital speedo etc) or keeps the clocks but put a fly screen on the protect the excess wiring however the clocks would still look out of place as they stick out so much.

Has any here removed the fairing and looked into changing the headlights? if so how did you go about it?

Any guides / pictures are more than welcome!

Cheers

Mine has no fairing and twin headlights.
It's only temporary until I can make something up to keep the wiring and underside of the clocks hidden.

I suppose you could get some head light ears for the forks and mount a plate on them for the headlights to sit. Maybe with the plate covering the clocks etc. polished aluminium etc.

I need to get mine sorted as its bugging me!

Any chance you could upload a picture of yours? I'm intrigued to see what it looks like with twin headlights minus a fly screen.

Do a search (one of the links at top of page) for twin headlights and you will find plenty of posts on it.
This is one for starters http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,16201.msg186329.html#msg186329
Personally I like the big single headlight look, but each to their own.

Something else I've noticed too is a few fazers seem to have their clocks a loke closer to the yoke than normal. Is it easy to move the clocks closer so they dont stick out too much (can look ugly from side view with no fairing on)
