Radweld - N A Chess - 29-04-15

Hi All

I have a leak in my radiator - sort of to be expected as it's 16 years old. Has anyone tried Radweld? There seems to be two schools of thought as to whether it's ok to use for bikes. I'd be interested to hear of anyone's experiences.

Stay safe.

Yep, used it before. I kept it like that for about 6 months before getting it replaced.

Re: Radweld - slappy - 29-04-15

Not used it in a bike but in daughter in laws clio. Was still ok 8 months later when she sold it.
Some people say it can block small bore coolant holes and pipes and should only be used as a get you home/temporary repair and then flushed out but I have never known anyone actually do that.

Re: Radweld - darrsi - 29-04-15

I'd be inclined to give K Seal a go in a bike, rather than Radweld, after doing a bit of reading.

Re: Radweld - N A Chess - 08-05-15

I went for the K-Seal in the end: it didn't work. As previously stated, it had good reviews, and it claimed to be suitable for two wheelers. But I guess  I was unlucky.

Well, we've had a very happy 50,000 miles together; but I thinks it 's time to get a younger model...... :rolleyes

Hi,

Spotted this for central heating systems but it will work for bikes or cars as well

That looks brilliant stuff, maybe even worth puting it in before you get a leak? Maybe in the same way you'd put ultraseal in before you get a puncture?
