My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - Gav2000 - 26-04-15 I've just bought my first Fazer, a 2000 model in silver. It had only 4,600 miles on it and all of the MOT certificates to verify it. I've not had a bike for a few years and only V-twins prior to that. I did 100 miles on it yesterday and, after some initial rustiness in my riding ability, loved it. It is a real beauty and totally unmarked, even the downpipes are rust free. Gav. Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - bri h - 26-04-15 Looks like a bargain gav enjoy Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - sinto607276 - 26-04-15 Welcome gav, bike looks really neat, in sure you'll enjoy it :-) Where abouts are you? Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - Gav2000 - 27-04-15 I'm in Northampton. The bike is identical to one my wife had when they first came out, same model year and same colour. Gav. No ,folks know there are low milage bikes out there, they are sought after,,that is like buying a year old bike,,,which would be about £6 or 7 grand.. I thought my 06 thou was a low miler with 8.5k, great find hope you enjoy it, even though it's not blue ![]() Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - blackcabbie - 30-04-15 Is the centre stand OK. Looks bent forward to me. Rear wheel not off the ground or is that a optical illusion Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - sinto607276 - 30-04-15 (30-04-15, 08:46 AM)blackcabbie link Wrote: Is the centre stand OK. Think this is correct :-) Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - Fazerider - 01-05-15 (30-04-15, 08:46 AM)blackcabbie link Wrote: Is the centre stand OK. Looks bent forward to me. [/quote] Hey gav, is it a pig to get on the centre stand???....looks jacked up to me......shorter dogbones either side of the rear shock....i had mine jacked up and im pretty sure it brought the wheel closer to ground on centre stand as i remember putting it on the stand over a drop in the garden so i could oil my chain. Pic to illustrate. Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - sinto607276 - 02-05-15 Foccin hell that's really low noggy, but guess you could drive it off with the wheel that close, I remember being able to do that on my old cb500 but that wasn't jacked up! Btw, are those rear passenger footpegs much lower than the ones off a '98? Straight swap I'm guessing too? Why would a jack up kit be fitted; is it for looks or handling? I'm pretty tall so have no objection to a higher rear end but I'm not sure why the original owner would have done that when he was only riding 300 miles a year. It is quite a lift to get it onto the centre stand though. Gav. Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - sinto607276 - 04-05-15 Surely it's a lowering kit as apposed to a jack-up kit that's on the bike. It does what it says on the tin :lol If it was a jack-up kit it would make the seat higher by raising the swing arm etc and thus this would make it higher off the deck and if it was a lowering kit on it, just the opposite as above and that's what I see in the pic anyhow. Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - Andy FZS - 05-05-15 I think to raise the seat you need to increase the distance between the seat and the swinging arm and hence lowering it would raise the ride height ☺ Re: My new 2000 Fazer - 4,600 miles only! - slimwilly - 05-05-15 Are you all nuts ? drinking ? :lol :lol :lol |
