Fueling maps from the FZ1OA forum. - slappy - 16-04-15

Is anyone using ,or has used, whitllebeasts stage 2 smoothed map for the pc3 from the american forum in their FZ1?
If so what did you think to it?
Any other stage 2 maps you would recommend trying?

I think that's the one on mine atm. works nice, lots of low down power , smooth right through to top

Re: Fueling maps from the FZ1OA forum. - slappy - 17-04-15

Ok, thanks. The map has some good feedback on the american site but I wasn't sure if it would be ok to use as I have always thought american petrol was lower octane than ours.
I will put the map in today but won't be able to test it untill next week  :'( because I have got three of the grandkids to look after for the next three days Smile

Im not sure i want a smoothe map or not.

Only because the fun bit about the engine is its surge of power.....but more low down grunt would be nice.

Thats if my bike ever runs :rolleyes

Ive used the johndaddy82 map which turns the bike into a monster when u get up in to the higher revs. But seen shocking results in how quickly I can empty the tank. The perfection averaged map is good smooth power all the way through. Before my wales trip ive got some dyno time booked in to get it perfect for me.

I looked at the  johndaddy82 map as well but  reviews of it did seem to agree with what you say about  fuel consumption.
I am hoping to get it on the dyno at Jordans bikes in the next couple of months when I find enough time. Just going to get a couple of power runs comparing the map supplied with the juicebox pro to the smoothed map at first to see the difference.  They did my ZRX1100 for me 8 years ago and I was quite happy with the results.

I used that on my gen II, it was my favourite all round map, and I tried a few!

Some were better for track use, but the whittlebeast was best for the road by far.

Well it is sat in the juicebox now ready for use, day off on wednesday so hope to put a god few miles on. Thanks for all the feedback.

Do what I did and just load the closest 8 maps onto the juicebox, just write down which ones which for future reference 8)

I had one for thrashing, one for commuting, and one for general all round goodness. Some of the maps made quite a difference to how the engine behaves.

Tried out the whitlebeast map yesterday  and  had to switch back to the pc3 map i had in the juicebox to come home.
When the engine is hot it is very difficult to start, misfires and will not tickover. Also it seems to 'surge' at a steady throttle at low revs. Once above 3500 it works perfectly. Cold starting is not affected.
Stevierst I have took your advice and the box is now fully loaded with maps, hopefuly this weekend I will get out again to run some comparisons. If the hot starting problem  still exists with different maps then I will need to investigate  but I have never had it before.

Have fun experimenting slappy, and hope the hot start problem gets sorted soon >Big Grin
