Back to the Future Snapped studs and the like - fazersharp - 03-04-15

When I finally get around to fitting a flux capacitor to to my fazer, im going to go back to 1998 and tell everyone to take those nuts off and put back with copper grease, or swap studs and nuts for stainless steel.

So what other ideas do people have for things that could of been done to save us all problems that we now have to deal with on our fazers

12mm front sprocket nut.  Paint the centre stand to a standard which will stop it rusting.

I agree, to a certain point with this!
Not to be controversial but I drive a car and a truck as well as ride my bike..of which I have my IAM for all..just giving you some background before the next part!
Lots of bikers don't realise that if they can't see the driver of the vehicles,  what chance has the vehicle drivers got in seeing them?
Just one example that I get often is bikes sitting up close to my rear end on the truck, they are out of my sight then suddenly they want to overtake, out they pop, with a hope and a prayer by the looks of some of them, then blast past shaking their wee heads off as if it's my fault they can't see past me! Or even that I don't 'tell them' it's clear (more on this later)
If those guys when sitting their test are shown what to do, ie get in view, they would be much better prepared for the real world.
It's not that I don't see them approaching, I most certainly do, but when they sit where I can't see them, that's just asking for trouble. And just before anyone says I should indicate to show them it's clear if I'm aware that they are there,
1. It's against the rules of the highway code making it illegal.
2. If caught doing it I could be liable in a court of law.
Sorry, it's not my shout to tell anyone behind me that it's clear, that's their shout m'lord.
Yes, big rant over, happy biking and stay safe.

Though not applicable to the thread, I agree with sinto Smile

As for the topic... I almost want to suggest some sort of change to the original downpipes. They rust away like crazy, BUT they are generally accepted as the best performing so I'm not sure...

(can't do emoticons as I use my phone)

As for the topic....
Ok, I'd love a changing room like Mr Ben so I could go on those crazy adventures he had!

Don't buy a Bandit first. Just go straight to Fazer  Smile

Re: Back to the Future Snapped studs and the like - alan sherman - 03-04-15

As soon as buying an FZS600 take all the fasteners out and replace with stainless (Titanium for brakes), apply copper slip and sorted.

Never fit an alarm....

Re: Back to the Future Snapped studs and the like - fazersharp - 03-04-15

Go into the design shop and tell them to Please put the fairing in a wind tunnel to see if it can be made any better, as all we can do now is try to improve it with after market screens.
And yes that chap you are using to test the mirrors ---- change him for one with broader shoulders please

Re: Back to the Future Snapped studs and the like - sinto607276 - 03-04-15

Also tell them to put in decent lights while they're at it B-)

Re: Back to the Future Snapped studs and the like - fazersharp - 03-04-15

I think someone did tell them but they only went back to 2002 (or whenever the foxeye came out)

The first thing I thought when I saw my Fazer was "I'm going to have to have the engine out to get all the broken exhaust studs out when I change the exhaust". They are rusty as feck.

I'm sure we'd replace the exhaust and studs as it rolled out the factory if we had the chance ;-)

I sat behind a lorry once, in line with his mirror so he could see me, but at least 3 cars length behind with no intention of overtaking as it was a narrow road, then i saw his arm come out the window and he emptied a whole flask of tea or coffee that i saw flying through the air and i just managed to dip behind his lorry to avoid it.
When i went back in line with his mirror and raised by hand to question why he did it, he started spitting out the window instead and i could see the anger in his face.  :grumble
Don't think he was a biker as well?  :lol  [/quote]

Re: Back to the Future Snapped studs and the like - sinto607276 - 05-04-15

"Don't think he was a biker? "
Of course he wasn't,  and he wasn't Scottish either as who would waste a whole flask of tea? Lol
