Coolant Leak - Grayo - 18-03-15

I have a small coolant leak that looks like it is coming from the small crankcase (?) cover, the one in front of the gear change that looks like it has a big allen bolt in the middle of it.
The question I have is, would it leak coolant from there if that gasket had gone ?

Cheers.

If it's running onto the exhaust by the exup valve and onto the ground from the sump it means an engine out jobby.

:eek

Are you sure it's coming from there... Check the radiator hose that runs down the front of the left hand side of the engine. All it takes is a tiny pin hole in the hose to spray towards the engine. Personally i would thoroughly clean and dry the area and run it till it's hot, then check for damp area :\

I've dried the area and run the bike up to temperature and it looks like it is dripping from that casing.
Would it be coming from there and would it be worth changing the gasket ?

Well it's taken me a month but I've found it at last. It's coming from the thermostat housing. Now to try and get in there to change the o ring.  :\

Re: Coolant Leak - Grayo - 24-04-15

Finally finished it today and just in case anyone else has this problem, it wasn't the o ring. There was slight corrosion between the inside edges of the thermostat housing. Cleaned them up, a little lubrication, all back together and no leak.
Not the easiest of things to get to though.
