What aftermarket (loud) horn have you fitted? I'm particularly interested in those with R1 front fork set-up and how/where you've mounted it? Or if you've got standard forks and have mounted it somewhere completely different? Photos would be much appreciated. Seems my standard one fell off somewhere  :lol

Ta very much!

I got a pair of two tone horns from 2 wheel junkie a few years ago. Cant find any paperwork as to what they are but bloody loud. Mounted each side of the fairing but I reckon with a bit of jigery pokery I could get them inside the fairing with a squeeze. Never had any probs with them but you have to mount them at the right angle as they might fill up with water.

I have a Nautilus air horn separated into compressor and horn sections.  The horn is mounted under the reg/rec on a simple alloy bracket, the compressor lives where the AIS block used to be under fuel tank.  Rubber hose connects the two components.  I fitted a relay to the original horn wires and ran a separate fused 12v feed from the battery to the compressor.  Loud and invisible. Thanks guys  Smile

Nautilus was the name that readily springs to mind Mike. Still got the AIS on mine though, so would need somewhere else to mount the compressor. Don't think I'd get around to removing AIS for a while yet  :rolleyes

Hmmm, relays, wiring. For someone whose trade was Avionics Tech, I sure am hesitant when it comes to playing with sparky stuff. Guess I'm scared I'll accidentally drain out all the electrons or something  :lol

Those ones you've got Kosmic, wouldn't they fit somewhere under the fairing (inner panels, around reg/rect on the left as Mike suggests, more room under right side)? I thought the Nautilus was about that size?

Paul, don't know if it'll mount where the original was, won't know till I see the finished bike with the new forks. I guess if Mike didn't go with there, there could be an issue with mounting point/space? Under the inner panels sounds favourite at the moment.

Keep up Nick  :deal

As said in my post "I reckon with a bit of jigery pokery I could get them inside the fairing with a squeeze."

Sorry Ade, getting a bit befuddled in the old age (still a mere sprog compared to Paul though  :lol )

Think we're even now  Wink

I've got the same setup as Falcon269 (on a standard bike, no R1 mod)

Mike,

I have a Nuatilus kicking about in the garage somewhere but never fitted due to size. I didn't know you could split them.

Have you any pictures of where you mounted yours?

I think I may dig it out and give it a whirl.
