had to get recovered, fuel pump? - Paulfzs - 25-02-15

riding along on a nsl road and slowed down for a roundabout and my bike died so coasted to a stop..

bike wouldn't start properly i had to give it half throttle then it wouldn't idle just died..

kept it running as it wasnt sounded right tested all ht leads all sparking fine till it died then wouldn't start again...

lifted tank checked fuel tank fuel was free flowing, removed hose off fuel pump its going into pump fine..
checked hose coming from fuel pump and no fuel.

turn the key i cannot hear the pump priming up like it used to before.

have power going to fuel pump at the plug.

That sounds familiar. Similar thing happened to my CBR. The points can be changed with a bit of soldering involved,  or you can get a second hand pump.
Someone with a bit more knowledge of electrics can probably say how to check it's not the relay, but bike electrics are like wizardry to me.

ordered a 2nd hand pump of the bay as its close to the weekend and itll be here friday hopefully.

i connected fuel line from tank to the fuel line to the carbs and bike fired out with no problems so it was definably a fuel issue
